Required Health Documentation for Arrival

To ensure the health and safety of all horses on the property, Sapphire Ribbons enforces a strict health protocol. I understand I can not off load my horse(s) without documentation.

• Recent Vaccinations: Proof of core vaccinations must be provided, showing they were administered within six (6) months of your horse's arrival date at Sapphire Ribbons.

• Negative Coggins Test: A valid, negative Coggins certificate issued within one (1) year of arrival is strictly required for all horses entering the facility.

Standard Feed/Supplement Policy

  • Standard Barn Feed: All horses enrolled at Sapphire Ribbons are fed a high-quality, typical Purina feed, or an alternative premium ration carefully selected by the trainer to support optimal athletic performance and health.

  • Specialized Feed & Requests: If an owner requests a different brand, or if a horse specifically requires grain, senior feed, specialized forage, medications, or supplements outside of our standard barn ration, these items will be at the owner's expense.

  • Ordering & Delivery Logistics: The owner is entirely responsible for purchasing and coordinating the delivery of all custom feeds and supplements. All custom items must be paid for by the owner and mailed or delivered directly to Sapphire Ribbons at the owner's expense.

Mandatory Service & Provider Payment Policy


To ensure uninterrupted care, the horse owner must establish direct payment arrangements with all service providers prior to the horse's arrival at the facility. Service will not be performed by any outside provider unless one of the following two conditions is met in advance:

  1. Checks on File: The owner must leave signed, blank checks on file with Sapphire Ribbons to cover the direct costs of farrier visits, veterinary procedures, or other outsourced equine services.

  2. Pre-Paid / Direct Billing: The owner must call the veterinarian, farrier, or third-party provider ahead of time to put a credit card on file or establish a pre-paid billing account for all scheduled or emergency appointments.

Worming/Vaccination Management Policy

To maintain a safe, disease-free environment for all horses on the property, Sapphire Ribbons enforces a strict herd health protocol:

  • Routine Scheduling: Deworming and core vaccinations are performed regularly on a mandatory, scheduled basis following Sapphire Ribbons facility standards and our attending veterinarian's precise recommendations.

  • Owner's Expense: All routine vaccines, fecal tests, and worming medications administered under this program are performed strictly at the owner's expense. Fees will be directly billed to the owner or paid via the payment method left on file.

Owner Provided Items Policy

All specialized items required for your horse's daily routine, health, or comfort must be provided strictly at the owner's expense. Sapphire Ribbons does not supply these custom items. The owner is fully responsible for purchasing and replenishing the following:

  • Special Food & Supplements: Any grain, senior feed, specialized forage, or supplements outside of our standard barn ration.

  • Blankets & Sheets: All winter blankets, rain sheets, fly sheets, and coolers tailored to your horse's size.

  • Treats & Care Supplies: Any preferred horse treats, specialized grooming lotions, or specific therapeutic boots.

Personal Property/Liability Disclaimer

Sapphire Ribbons is not responsible for the damage, loss, or theft of any personal items, tack, or equipment left on the facility property. All personal belongings—including saddles, bridles, blankets, grooming kits, and trailers—are stored on-site entirely at the owner's risk. We strongly recommend that clients clearly label all of their gear and secure any high-value equipment.

Training Program Payment Deadlines/Agister's Lien Policy

 

  • Initial Drop-Off Payment: The first (1st) month of training must be paid in full at the time of horse drop-off. A horse will not be accepted into the facility or offloaded from the trailer until this initial payment is processed.

  • Advance Monthly Billing: All monthly training and conditioning fees are strictly due on the 20th of the month prior to service (e.g., June training fees must be paid by May 20th).

  • Payment can be maid via Check/Cash/Venmo: Sapphire Ribbons LLC, 21313 305th St Mason City, IA 50401. Venmo: AddysonRunde3 verification code 4705.

  • Late Fee: Any payment received after the 20th of the month will be automatically assessed a $100 late fee.

  • Immediate Program Suspension: If training fees are not paid in full by the 1st (start) of the active month, training services will be instantly suspended, and the horse will immediately be downgraded and placed on standard stall board rates.

Non-Payment & Possession of Horse: If accounts remain unpaid, all training services will be immediately suspended. In accordance with Iowa law regarding Agister's Liens, Sapphire Ribbons may exercise all rights and remedies available under applicable Iowa law relating to agister's liens, including but not limited to retaining possession of the horse, securing a lien for all unpaid board, care, and training balances, and pursuing legal avenues to take permanent ownership or sell the animal to satisfy the debt.

  • What’s Included: 4–5 professional rides/sessions per week, weekly lessons, custom feeding, turnout, and comprehensive show prep/coaching.

  • Best For: Young horses, seasoned show athletes, and riders aiming for top-tier competitive success.

[ ] Option 2: Partnership / 4-H Training Program $750/mo

"Empowering riders from the ground up." Hands-on coaching designed for youth and local show riders.

  • What’s Included: Ground-up coaching, pattern precision, showmanship prep, and a supportive team environment.

  • The Approach: You do the majority of the training with us coaching from the ground. We are always ready to get in the saddle to assist if you hit a challenge.

[ ] Option 3: Conditioning Program $TBD

"Peak fitness from the ground up." Professional physical conditioning without under-saddle training.

  • What’s Included: Customized ground fitness routines utilizing round-pen work, lunging, long-lining, and hand-walking.

  • Best For: Layup/injury recovery, off-season maintenance, or building muscle and stamina. No rider required.

12. Horse Sales Commission

Sapphire Ribbons offers professional horse marketing and sales services to assist owners in finding qualified buyers. In consideration of these services, the owner agrees to pay Sapphire Ribbons a 10% commission of the final selling price of the horse. The commission is due in full upon the successful completion of the sale and shall be paid at the time the purchase funds are received.

I acknowledge that I have enrolled in the program listed above and understand that the monthly cost shown is my financial commitment for participation in that program. Payment is required to reserve and maintain my lesson, training, boarding, or program placement. Payment remains due according to Sapphire Ribbons' payment schedule unless otherwise agreed to in writing by Sapphire Ribbons.


Payment Commitment

By signing below, I understand I am responsible for all fees associated with the services I have enrolled in through Sapphire Ribbons. I have further read and understand both the Lesson/Waiver Contract and Horse Entry Information Contract that explains payment schedule requirements/late fees/returned check fees, etc. I understand that failure to make timely payments may result in the cancellation of services at Sapphire Ribbons' discretion.
